ROCK 97.7 created Kev's Kids to help needy children in Grande Prairie and area who "fall between the cracks".

 

Here are some of the individuals and groups who have benefited from Kev's Kids:


To support PACE's worthy initiative to set up a Youth And Child Advocacy Centre for Grande Prairie and Area. Kev's Kids is please to be able to help support paying the hard costs of setting up a location for the program to operate from.

A CPAP machine for Jonathan who has severe sleep apnea resulting in low oxygen levels adding numerous  complications to other medical issues.

 

PARDS Riding Lessons

For and Autistic boy who has greatly benefited developmentally from the lessons.

Travel Assistance

$1,950.58

For a family with five children, assistance with travel and accommodations for several medical appointment visits to Edmonton for their disabled daughter

Wheelchair Lift

For a 2 year old wheelchair bound boy. This lift will enable his family to safely get him in and out of their house.

For a 16 year old boy with severe physical and developmental delays and a seizure disorder. This new ramp system will enable

To assist in the care for a 14 year old girl with Cerebral Palsy, Seizure Disorder and severe developmental delay a ceiling track list system.

For a young boy born paraplegic (Spina Bifida) a Sports Wheelchair to allow him to participate successfully in Wheelchair Basketball.

Therapeutic Swing

To foster personal growth and development of a severely autistic boy a suspended swing will allow him to feel calm and safe while experiencing sensory stimulation.

For a Grade 2 student with Cerebral Palsy - Kev's Kids helped with the funding to provide these supports which will improve her stability and prevent falling.

Kev's Kids has funded a Therapeutic Hot Tub for Davey Christian. This will be beneficial to Davey as he suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Laptop

$1500.00

Kev's Kids funded $1500.00 for a laptop with special software and accessories for Peter Beilech-Cook.   

To be a companion, guide and protector for a terrific young lady a "Helping Paws" Service Dog. This service dog will greatly improve quality for her and her family.

A Special Tomato Multi-Positioning Seat for 9 year old with cerebral palsy. Because of his CP he can sit without support or to change position and interact with friends.  

For an assisted listening system for a girl who has suffered hearing loss due to Turner Syndrome. The system will help her in speech therapy, participate in classes at school and more.

Responding to three separate requests over the past few years Kev's Kids funded Laptop Computers to allow students with special needs become more independent and successful in school.

To allow a 8 month old baby born with a cleft palate and other medical issues to be discharged from hospital and go home. Kev's Kids funded $3000 for an Oxygen Saturation monitor.

To help extend their trail system to enable children and adults who are physically handicapped to experience a "hike" through a wilderness area that is not currently accessible to wheelchairs or walkers. 

Faith

$2908.17

Faith has severe cerebral palsy.  Kev’s Kids provided $2908.17 to purchase Faith a special seat to keep her safe, along with a new car seat.

P.A.C.E

$26,000.00

Kev's Kids funded P.A.C.E. (Providing Assistance, Counseling and Education) $26,000.00 to purchase a 15 passenger Van to transport kids involved in the program.

Kev's Kids funded $8995.00 to help a family of a young girl modify their vehicle and home so their daughter can continue to live at home and get the physical therapy she needs to help slow the progression of her motor disability.

Kev's Kids funded $750.00 for contact lenses for a girl who has needed specialized surgery in Edmonton to be able to see and will need contact lenses and glasses updated frequently as she grows.

Kev's Kids funded $25,000.00 for Vest Airway clearance systems to improve the life and independence of two wonderful teen girls.

Kev's Kids funded $6,750.00 for a power recline mechanism for a bright young girl's wheel chair so she can adjust her chair herself and continue to attend school while suffering from spinal fractures.
